Fu Jen University – Speech – CFF

Fu Jen Catholic University New York Alumni Association holds the 2016 annual alumni meeting on Aug 6th in Flushing, New York. Mr. Jiang, president of Fu Jen University, awards the doctorate degree to Dr. James S.C. Chao and an award of outstanding public service achievement to his daughter The Honorable Elaine L. Chao.

Dr. James S.C. Chao, who has a reputation of a “champion captain”, is the founder of Foremost Group. Dr. Chao is well known for his kind and charitable character. He donates to schools very often and also founded a foundation with his wife, Ms. Mulan Chao, to help young students to study in the United States. Dr. Chao attributes everything to his parents, who stressed the importance of education when he was a child, and to his wife, who always supported him.

The honorable Elaine L. Chao in 2013 was awarded a doctorate degree by Fu Jen University. She says that she is glad to accompany Dr. Chao to attend this ceremony as his daughter. Elaine Chao shared her encouragement to Asian students to express their thoughts more often as well as participating in more activities to nurture one’s self.

Mr. Jiang, president of Fu Jen University, expresses that this award ceremony is not only an award to respect Dr. Chao but is also a great honor for Fu Jen University.
