CCTV covers 30th anniversary of Shanghai Mulan Education Foundation

CCTV was on hand to witness the 30th anniversary celebrations of the Shanghai Mulan Education Foundation. The gala got underway at Shanghai Maritime University, and some attendees got a sense of déjà vu as they found themselves on the same stage where they had received a Shanghai Mulan Education Foundation scholarship, in some cases decades ago. The Foundation was established in 1984 by Dr. and Mrs. James S.C. Chao. Since then, Foundation beneficiaries have gone on to establish themselves in the maritime industry. CCTV interviewed past scholarship recipients, who noted that the awards were more about honor and prestige than financial support, providing incentive to be a good steward in the maritime field.
